What makes "Romance of the three kingdoms"so popular in Japan?
Popular? Hmm..based on my experience,
I only got 4 friends who read the RoTK and like it.
But "Dynasty Warriors" is popular around me. If they are really interested in playing it, They mightproceed to read RoTK. But sadly they only "plays" it, without noticing the great historical facts....

It' s an historic novel, and heavily biased towards Shu Han
Hence many of our old sayings or phrases are derived from those stories or episodes. The subject isone of the most popular stories. It is almost like King Arthur' s story for Americans.
I read it in my childhood; about ten years old. On top of that, there may be some video games and/orAnime' S based on the drama which may be attracting younger generation Japanese, too. I' m too oldto tell you the details of such games, though.
